SHA is Healing (w. Bass)
BASS / HIP-HOP / TRAP / DnB / HOUSE
Naim, known professionally as SHA, is a Brooklyn-born, Germany-based DJ, producer, and rap artist whose 20-year career has solidified him as a force in the global bass and hip-hop scenes. From sharing stages at SXSW, SummerJam Festival, and Big Dub Festival to holding down a weekly residency at Nachcafe in Center City, SHA’s electrifying performances and genre-defying sound have captivated audiences worldwide.
Whether he’s unleashing his bass-heavy productions, spinning a head-knocking DJ set, or embodying his rap alter-ego from the Purple Planet, SHA’s mission is clear: to liberate minds and heal souls through the power of sound. His music is a crossroads where light meets dark, blending house, trap, dubstep, hip-hop, and drum & bass into a sonic journey that’s as unpredictable as it is unforgettable. With a style that’s both darkly hypnotic and funkily explosive, SHA’s sets are a masterclass in energy, leaving crowds vibrating with higher frequencies.
Growing up in Brooklyn, SHA was immersed in the city’s vibrant music culture from a young age. From sneaking into Konkrete Jungle drum & bass nights to capturing the raw energy of early dubstep pioneers like Skream, his roots run deep. Inspired by legends like Rusko, The Cool Kids, and Aesop Rock, SHA picked up the turntables and never looked back. With a foundation in classical music theory, turntablism passed down from his father—a witness to the birth of hip-hop in 1970s NYC—and formal training in digital music production from NYU, SHA’s artistry is as technically skilled as it is soulfully intuitive.
Today, SHA continues to push boundaries, both on and off the stage. His weekly residency at Nachcafe showcases his versatility, with sets that range from disco grooves to Biggie Smalls classics, while his bass-heavy performances dive into deep, dangerous, and trappy territories. Offstage, SHA is a devoted father of two, raising his daughters in a city that reflects his values of community and creativity.
Currently, SHA is working on a new rap album designed to help listeners survive the apocalypse, alongside a summer rollout of fresh, fiery productions. For SHA, music is more than sound—it’s a healing vibration, a bridge between the spiritual and the physical, and a reminder that even in the darkest moments, there’s always a beat to move to.
Catch SHA on stage, meditating in a corner before unleashing his infectious energy, or follow his journey as he continues to move bodies, liberate minds, and heal souls—one bass drop at a time.
